Email (SMTP) Integration

Set up an SMTP/IMAP connection to send and receive email through DOLU.ai.

Setup

Step 1: Add Channel

1. Go to the Settings > Channels page
2. Click the Add Channel button
3. Select the Email option

Step 2: SMTP Settings

Enter the sender (SMTP) information:

• SMTP Server: e.g. smtp.gmail.com
• Port: 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL)
• Username: Your email address
• Password: App password (for Gmail)
• Encryption: TLS (recommended) or SSL

Step 3: IMAP Settings (Optional)

IMAP connection to read incoming emails:

• IMAP Server: e.g. imap.gmail.com
• Port: 993 (SSL)
• Username: Your email address
• Password: Same app password

Step 4: Test Send

1. Click the Test Connection button
2. Send a test email
3. Check your inbox

Gmail Special Settings

If you are using Gmail, the regular password will not work. You need to create an App Password:

1. Go to Google Account Settings
2. 2-Step Verification must be enabled
3. Go to the App Passwords section
4. Create a password for the Mail app
5. Enter the generated 16-digit password in DOLU.ai

Caution

You cannot use your regular Gmail password. Google requires an app password for third-party applications.

Troubleshooting

Issue	Solution
Connection error	Check SMTP server and port information
Authentication error	Check username and password; use app password for Gmail
Email going to spam folder	Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
Sending limit	Check your provider's daily sending limit
